Kara Kennedy, Ted Kennedy?s Daughter, Dead At 51

Kara Kennedy, the oldest daughter of the late Ted Kennedy, died Friday night after a workout at a gym in Washington, D.C. The only daughter of Ted and Joan Kennedy was 51 at the time of her death. Sadly, the ‘Kennedy curse’ continues. This family has endured more than enough tragedy. It’s a sad end for the oldest child of Ted Kennedy. In 2002, Kara was diagnosed with lung cancer and was given a dismal prognosis. In her late father’s 2009 memoir, ‘True Compass’, he wrote about her fight with the deadly disease. “Kara responded to my exhortations to have faith in herself. Today, nearly seven years later as I write this, Kara is a healthy, vibrant, active mother of two who is flourishing.” Her brother, Patrick Kennedy said today, ‘She’s with dad.’ She was an active person, regularly exercised, and enjoyed it immensely. Patrick feels that the treatment she received for her cancer ‘took quite a toll on her and weakened her physically. Her heart gave out.” She reportedly was in remission.
