Jessica Simpson TV Gig: Art Imitates Life

Jessica Simpson has landed a new TV gig and it is a sitcom where art is going to imitate life. According Deadline.com Jessica and NBC are joining forces on a show that will be inspired by her life. It is not a reality show but rather a comedy pilot that the soon to be mother of two will star in. The pilot is currently being written but no word yet on when it will be shot and delivered to NBC. The Fashion Star mentor had this to say about her latest forte into the acting world. “I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life — so between the real-life elements and a great team of writers, I think we’ll have people laughing!” Producer Ben Silverman called Simpson “a modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops” he went on to say ““From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica’s character approach a variety of ‘everyday’ circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud.” It seems that all parties are behind a sitcom about Jessica’s life.
