Jennifer Hudson To Guest Star On Smash

Singer Jennifer Hudson has inked a deal to guest star on the new musical series Smash.  Get the details surrounding Hudson’s role below. American Idol alumni Jennifer Hudson is set to appear in a multi-guest arc on NBC’s Broadway series ‘Smash’ that stars actors Debra Messing and Jack Davenport.  The news was revealed that Hudson will show up in the series’ upcoming second season as the character Veronica Moore, who is described as a Tony Award-winning star of Broadway that will change  the lives of both series regulars Karen, who is played by former Idol star Katharine McPhee, and Megan Hilty’s Ivy. Both Steven Spielberg, who serves as an executive producer of the show, and NBC’s Chairman, Robert Greenblatt, were excited about Hudson joining the cast for a guest appearance. “First ‘Dreamgirls,’ now ‘Smash.’ I have no doubt Jennifer will continue to deliver even more inspiration to the audience responsible for giving us a second season on NBC,” Spielberg stated.
