As her latest album hit store shelves, Nicki Minaj set out to make a few promotional appearances, one of which was at the Best Buy in Harlem, NYC on Tuesday (April 3).
Looking fabulous in a blinged out jacket over a tight star-covered leotard with dark blue tights and leopard print pumps, the "Moment 4 Life" singer greeted fans while also posing for pictures as she proudly held up her album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded".
Nicki let out a little excitement over her sophomore effort dropping, as she tweeted earlier in the day, "106&Park tonite as well as my NYC signing @ BestBuy!!!! Aaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! See ya soon barbz!!!!!"
And while there's plenty of positive comments, criticism has already begun, as well, as one of the biggest complaints is that the 29-year-old decided to split up the album between rap and dance/pop.
But, then again, that's exactly what some fans love about it, as @Craggleprice tweeted, "The album is amazing!! it's got Rap, Pop, Dance and Ballads! best album! Drake and Lil Wayne Collabs r amazing! it all is!"

But other Michael Jackson supporters outside L.A. courthouse tell MTV News 'justice has been served.'
By Katie Byrne, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf
<P><b>LOS ANGELES</b> — During the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, <a href="/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson</a>'s fans have been as much a fixture at the courthouse as the <a href="/news/articles/1675068/conrad-murray-sentencing.jhtml">Jackson family</a>. When <a href="/news/articles/1675062/conrad-murray-sentence.jhtml">Murray was sentenced to four years</a> in jail Tuesday (November 29), MTV News spoke with those loyal fans outside the court to see if the maximum sentence was an apt punishment. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="MIchael Jackson Fans React To Conrad Murray Sentence" id="vid:715142.id:1673923" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"Four years — not enough, but at least something," said one fan, sporting a red jacket in tribute to MJ. "And where I come from, a little something is always better than nothing." </P><P> </P><P>One pair of friends might have been wearing matching <i>Thriller</i> T-shirts, but their opinions on Murray's sentence certainly didn't match. "If four years is the maximum and he got the maximum — I know she's not happy, but I'm happy," one of the women said, gesturing to her less-than-pleased companion. "I feel like justice was served and that L.A. can now be proud and stand tall." </P><P> </P><P>"It's better than nothing, but it's not even close to justice," said another fan, wearing Jackson's trademark fedora and sequined glove. "Not only was [Murray] negligent; he let the man die. It's unconscionable. He didn't even try. How would a heart doctor not know how to give CPR? It's insane." </P><P> </P><P>The cardiologist, who was found guilty of one felony count of involuntary manslaughter November 7, was facing up to four years in state prison in the death of the pop icon, but due to recent changes to alleviate overcrowding in California prisons, the judge in the case said he was unable to send the doctor to state prison for his crime. On top of that, <a href="/news/articles/1675080/conrad-murray-sentence-four-years-experts.jhtml">legal expert Mike Cavalluzzi told MTV News</a> that Murray will likely serve less than half of his four-year sentence. </P><P> </P><P>Those legal loopholes concerned a female fan outside the courthouse, but she was also happy that the maximum punishment was doled out. </P><P> </P><P>"The only thing I'm worried about now, with the overcrowding of the jails, he might get one year and house arrest," she told MTV News. "I'm just hoping it'll be four years, that's what I'm praying. I'm just glad that justice has been served today, and I'm glad justice can be served to the family and to the fans, and everybody around today will be happy and celebrate that justice has been served. And I'm sure Michael's looking from heaven right now."</p>

Celebrities owning lavish homes in the Hollywood, CA area is no surprise, but it may have been a bit of a shock to Justin Bieber that one of those homes was not available to him.
The Biebs and Hollywood funny-man Ashton Kutcher are said to have both been vying for the same pad - with the former "That 70s Show" star winning out.
According to a report from TMZ, Ashton had been renting the sprawling abode for a reported $50,000 a month since his December split with Demi Moore, but now he’s planning on keeping the place.
Before Kutcher plopped down an undisclosed amount cash for his new bachelor pad, it was reported that Bieber was planning on forking over $10.8 million for the Hollywood hills residence as a birthday gift to himself.
The “What Happens In Vegas” star’s new mansion was completed in 2007 and is described as “two glass and steel boxes that are perched in and cantilevered from a series of exposed poured concrete walls.”
The home also boasts amazing views of Lake Hollywood.

MTV News takes a look at the pros and cons of bringing Spears onboard as a judge for the reality singing competition.
By John Mitchell
<P>The news that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> is reportedly in final negotiations to <a href="/news/articles/1680782/britney-spears-x-factor-judge-offer.jhtml">join "The X Factor"</a> has set the <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com">MTV Newsroom</a> on fire. Opinion on whether the pop star is a good fit for the reality singing competition has been sharply divided, so we decided to take on the topic the way we're sure Simon Cowell did before making Spears a reported $10 million offer: a good, old-fashioned pros and cons list. </P><P> </P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:698603/cp~vid%3D698603%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A698603" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed> </P><P> </P><P><big><b>Pro: She'll attract viewers</b></big><br> </P><P>The <a href="/news/articles/1671220/x-factor-simon-cowell-ratings.jhtml">debut season of "The X Factor"</a> performed well below expectations. Its heavily hyped premiere pulled in 12.1 million total viewers and a meager 4.4/12 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18 to 49 demographic. That's about half of what the 2011 season of "American Idol" averaged ("Idol" is having its own ratings woes this season), and it didn't even win the night: Emmy-winning sitcom "Modern Family" drew 14.3 million viewers and a 6.0/15 for its season premiere. </P><P> </P><P>The poor ratings precipitated the overhaul that saw judges <a href="/news/articles/1678191/paula-abdul-exits-x-factor.jhtml">Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger</a> and host Steve Jones fired from the show. </P><P> </P><P>There's no question that Spears would bring viewers to "The X Factor." She enjoys a large and devout fanbase who will basically follow her just about anywhere. And beyond her own fans, Spears' celebrity would also likely draw attention from the general public, who will tune in simply to see how she does. </P><P> </P><P><big><b> Con: She's become nervous on camera </b></big><br> </P><P> </P><P>Though she can still wow a crowd live in concert, as evidenced by last year's successful tour behind her hit album <i>Femme Fatale,</i> Spears has become increasingly tentative during interviews. She rarely grants on-camera sit-downs, and when she does, she seems nervous and uncomfortable. </P><P> </P><P>To be a strong judge or mentor on a reality show, you have to be <i>very</i> comfortable on camera. Part of what made Jennifer Lopez click last season on "Idol" was that she came across as confident, direct and often empathetic. She even broke down in tears after <a href="/news/articles/1658584/americaon-idol-top-24.jhtml">sending home contestant Chris Medina</a>, whose fiancée suffered a severe brain injury in a car accident. The key word here is <i>after.</i> It's hard to imagine Spears being able to keep it together and deliver such difficult news in similar circumstances. </P><P>It's worth noting that a high-drama situation arose on the first season of "The X Factor" -- one that left <a href="/news/articles/1675936/x-factor-rachel-crow-elimination-reaction.jhtml">contestant Rachel Crow sobbing</a> onstage and Scherzinger a wreck ... a wreck who received <a href="http://www.thefablife.com/2011-12-05/paula-abdul-and-nicole-scherzinger-receive-death-threats-after-the-x-factor-elimination/" target="_blank">death threats</a>. Producers should also consider whether it's wise to send Spears, who has dealt with emotional issues in the past, into a genre that thrives when the emotional stakes are high. </P><P> </P><P><big><b>Pro: she is a contemporary artist</b></big><br> </P><P>One of the things we like most about <a href="/news/articles/1680496/the-voice-battle-rounds.jhtml">"The Voice"</a> is that its judges — Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — are all active artists. They are all still hitting the studio to make hit records, and that lends a great deal of credibility to their opinions when they critique a contestant's performance. We don't mean to slight Abdul or Scherzinger, but you could argue that a legacy singer who hasn't released an album in over 17 years and a performer who has had a difficult time getting her own solo singing career off the ground aren't the best judges of who does and does not have "The X Factor." </P><P> </P><P>On the other hand, Spears may be. <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/03/29/britney-spears-femme-fatale-reviews/">Last year's <i>Femme Fatale</i></a> gave Spears three top-10 singles — the most of any of her seven albums — and earned some of the best reviews of her career. While it's true that she did not write or produce much of the record, she was most certainly involved in picking her collaborators, which actually could speak well of her ability to know talent when she sees it. Spears also smartly chose red-hot rapper Nicki Minaj to open on the North American leg of her tour. </P><P> </P><P>When it comes to the contemporary pop music scene, Spears knows what works. </P><P> </P><P><big><b>Con: She's not known for her singing</b></big><br> </P><P>Unlike Aguilera, whose talent as a vocalist is indisputable, Spears is not known for her singing. By signing her to judge and mentor a singing competition, "X Factor" producers are setting themselves up for inevitable criticism. "Who is Britney Spears to judge a singing competition?" critics will scream (and they won't be wrong). </P><P> </P><P>When Aguilera critiques a performer's vocals, she speaks with authority — and her ear for singing proved to make her the most discerning judge on the "Voice" panel during the <a href="/news/articles/1679565/the-voice-christina-aguilera-jonathas-usher.jhtml">blind auditions</a>. Spears' judging style will likely be based on liking what's already there, but she's not going to have much insight on missed notes or pitch, which will cripple her ability to further mentor her team. How can she help them improve as vocalists when it's a truth universally acknowledged that she's not really a vocalist herself? </P><P> </P><P><i>Do you think Britney Spears is a good choice for "The X Factor"? Let us know in the comments below.</i></p>

Greater face time for Robb Stark and Jaime Lannister means bigger departures from George R.R. Martin's source material in season two.
By Josh Wigler
Richard Madden as Robb Stark in "Game of Thrones" season two
Photo: Helen Sloan/ HBO
While "Game of Thrones" is about as close to a perfect adaptation as it gets, there are some aspects of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros that remain in the books. Changes between George R.R. Martin's source material and the television series are, like winter, destined to come. Your mileage may vary on whether these differences are a good thing, but the differences exist, like them or not.
As was the case in season one, season two of "Thrones" features entirely new scenes to the "Song of Ice and Fire" saga, while other fan-favorite characters from "A Clash of Kings" — the novel that the show's second season is based upon — have been notably modified or, in some extreme cases, completely cut from the proceedings. Here's a quick rundown of some of the changes you can expect between the books and the show this coming season, but be warned: There are spoilers ahead. No way around them!
More Robb Stark
Despite his status as one of the clashing kings in Westeros, Robb Stark remains largely off the page in the second novel of Martin's series. Not so on "Game of Thrones." Richard Madden, the actor who brings Robb to life, is very much present this season, with his off-page exploits given new live-action life on HBO. It's a divisive choice; so much of Robb's impact hinges on only hearing about him and not actually seeing his legendary acts firsthand. On the other hand, you can't expect Madden to sit out virtually an entire season and remain on retainer for future years. Besides, getting the chance to see what Robb is up to while he's away from the book's narrative is part of the fun of an adaptation, right?
More Jaime Lannister
Likewise, the Kingslayer is a figure largely absent from "A Clash of Kings," thanks to his captivity at the hands of the Starks. But just as Madden can't be put on ice, neither can Nikolaj Coster-Waldau; he must remain on fire! But where Robb's off-page actions are the focus of his new onscreen story, Jaime's additional screen time might actually come from a future book. Fans of the novels know that portions of Jaime's last appearance in "Clash" were already used in the "Game of Thrones" season-one finale, and there are whispers that the character will actually dabble in "Storm of Swords" territory before the show's second year draws to a close.
We Want Our Reeds, We Want Our Reek
On the flip side, some of the characters heavily present in "Clash" are potentially sitting out of season two entirely. Recent rumors indicate that certain key roles — including Meera and Jojen Reed, critical to Bran's story in the books, and nasty sidekick Reek, who has a very interesting place in Theon's world — have not been cast for the upcoming season. Even if the rumors prove true, show runners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have said previously that certain aspects of the books might get shifted around from season to season — hence bits of Jaime's book-three story moving into season two, or the Reeds moving from book two into season three. As long as there's a future for these characters, we'll take them whenever we can.
What's in a Name?
Asha Greyjoy is dead. Long live Yara! Theon's older sister is not one of the aforementioned casualties of adapting book two for television, but her name is. It's been reported that the character, played by Gemma Whelan, lost her original name due to its similarity to Osha, the wildling girl played by "Harry Potter" veteran Natalia Tena. It's a minor difference in the grand scheme of things, but still the kind of change that could rub "Ice and Fire" purists the wrong way. For me, as long as Yara stays true to the essence of Asha — witty, gritty and incredibly badass — I won't sweat the change too much.
Throwing Dragonstones
All right, let's close with a personal gripe/nerd-out, shall we? Here we go: "Clash" begins with a prologue from the perspective of Maester Cressen, a servant of would-be king Stannis Baratheon's at his home on Dragonstone. It's an excellent introduction to Stannis and his surrounding cast, and it also sets the stakes extremely high for Baratheon's future actions. The Cressen prologue is easily one of my favorite chapters in the entire "Ice and Fire" series, but it's not quite as prominent in the upcoming "Thrones" season premiere. Of course, some things are lost in translation by necessity, and where the introduction to Dragonstone falls a bit short for me, the show more than makes up for it with plenty of fantastic scenes in King's Landing and elsewhere. I'm just hoping that, going forward, the Dragonstone story line remains a prominent, powerful one.
Tell us what you think about the potential changes in the comments section, or hit me up on Twitter @roundhoward!

Closing out the weekend on a spiritual note, Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green were spotted out at Oasis Church in Los Angeles on Sunday (April 1).
Arriving just in time for the evening service, the camera-avoiding couple hopped out of a friend's ride before rushing inside the place of worship to practice their personal beliefs.
The weekend church outing comes amidst rumors that Miss Fox is pregnant with her first child.
An "insider" told Star magazine of the supposed baby on the way: "They just found out and are incredibly excited. It’s still early, so they are only telling close friends and family members.”
“Megan has become a great stepmom, and Brian knows she’ll be wonderful with the baby. She has really grown in the past couple of years. Megan used to only be concerned with her career, but now family comes first," the Star source added, with nothing confirmed at the current time.

'Bless you, Celine, but it does rather haunt me,' the actress admits to MTV News of 'My Heart Will Go On.'
By Fallon Prinzivalli
"Like throwing up." That's how Kate Winslet feels when she hears Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," the once-inescapable theme to "Titanic."
"No, I shouldn't say that," Winslet added, thinking through her response before coming to this conclusion: "No, actually, I do feel like throwing up."
Since its release in 1997, the film has stuck with Winslet wherever she goes. It was the movie that helped her sky-rocket to the A-list, after all, and no one is likely to forget Dion's iconic song from "Titanic," set to be re-released in 3-D on April 4.
"I wish I could say, 'Oh listen, everybody! It's the Celine Dion song!' But I don't," Winslet admitted. "I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll."
Winslet went on to explain that every time she walks into a bar or a restaurant with a pianist, they never miss an opportunity to start playing the notes. "It's thrilling for people to surprise me with the Celine Dion song," she laughed.
But they not only play the tune for her, they also encourage the Oscar winner to sing it herself. "I did a talk show recently in Italy and they actually had a live pianist who started gently playing the theme song. I was not even gently, rather severely, urged to go and sing it as though I had in fact sung it myself in the first place. It was like, 'No! I'm not going to do that.' They're like, 'Oh no, come on it will be funny.' No, it won't be funny. At all. And I'm not going to."
Unfortunately for the actress, it's not just the theme song that haunts her. Whenever she boards a boat, she's the butt of jokes.
"Honestly, I actually now get onto boats and say, 'No jokes, OK? No jokes. Can we just move on from that? And if you have any jokes, let's just get them out of the way right now. Thank you. Anyone? Jokes, jokes? OK, moving on.' And then they still tell jokes," Winslet said. The most common joke is asking her to head to the front of the boat with them to reenact the iconic scene between hers and Leonardo DiCaprio's characters on the rail. To that she replies, "Oh, yeah! Oh, that one! Oh, don't worry, it's my party piece. Sure, come on up, bring your granny."
But Winslet is actually an amazing sport about the jokes. She understands how deeply the film touched its audience. And now that it will be on the big screen again, it can reach a whole new generation — including her children who will see it for the very first time.
"What's negative about it? Really, nothing at all," she said of the 3-D treatment. "It's very different and much more present. It's bigger — if you can believe that — but it is and you really do feel like you're in it."
Audiences will be able to relive the tragic love story — or experience for the first time — when "Titanic" it hits theaters in 3-D on April 4.

Working on a foreign version of her popular television show, "America's Next Top Model," Tyra Banks was busy filming the finale of "Russian Top Model" at a sunny Miami, FL residence on Saturday (March 31).
The former "Victoria's Secret" Angel strutted her stuff on the catwalk in a dark grey v-neck jumpsuit that showed her famous curves, while accessorizing with black heels and a statement necklace.
The gorgeous supermodel's weekend workday comes as she's been making dreams come true since 2003, as she helps one lucky contestant from each season of ANTM by opening doors for them in the cut throat modeling industry.
Miss Banks has recently been taking to her Twitter page to recruit more contestants for the next season of the show. In response to one of her followers asking about whether or not college was a necessity to apply, Tyra wrote, "YES! Next cycle's the College Edition. Anything from beauty school 2 pre-med & everything in btwn. #ANTM."

Nabbing as much press as she can prior to dropping her new album this Tuesday (April 3), Nicki Minaj brought her colorful self to Nickelodeon's 25th Annual Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (March 31).
The "Starships" hitmaker happily mingled amongst the young crowd at the USC Galen Center while gearing up for the fun-filled evening in the spotlight.
As for her appearance, Miss Minaj joined alongside "The Hunger Games" actor Josh Hutcherson with the pair helping out by announcing one of the evenings big winners.
Speaking of which, triumphant stars during the 2012 KCAs included the usual favorites - as Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez took home Favorite Male and Female singer honors, respectively, while First Lady Michelle Obama doted country star Taylor Swift with The Big Help award for her work with tornado and flood survivors in the US, as well as for her ability to inspire her fans to do their part, too.

Lily Collins tells MTV News her Snow is a 'young woman who found out that she can save a prince as much as a prince can save her.'
By Kara Warner
If you're looking for a fun, fantastical, family-friendly movie to see this weekend, Tarsem's "Mirror Mirror" has you covered. The visually appealing and star-studded film is a new spin on an old classic, featuring an exuberant "man child" of a prince played by Armie Hammer, Oscar winner Julia Roberts as an unhealthily vain Evil Queen and Lily Collins as a more independent and self-assured Snow White.
When MTV News caught up with Roberts and Collins recently, we asked them to explain how their characters differ from the familiar fairy-tale mold.
"I think she's deeply misunderstood," Roberts said of her Evil Queen. "And I think she is correct in her ambition and drive and desire and focus to annihilate Snow White. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. She's clear," she joked. "She's exacting."
Collins explained that her Snow White is not your typical damsel in distress. "She really becomes a fighter, emotionally and physically, and turns into this young woman who found out that she can save a prince as much as a prince can save her," she said. "She really becomes this fighter, and I got to swordfight and fence and wrestle and do all these cool things that you don't normally associate with a princess."
Speaking of fighters and swordfights, we couldn't help but ask for the castmembers' opinions on the fact that another Snow White-centric film, "Snow White and the Huntsman," will be hot on the heels of "Mirror Mirror" when it opens June 1 and how it might fare against their film.
"I'm interested to see what they did," Hammer admitted. "I think what we did is make a movie that's family-friendly. The parents are going to go to it and enjoy it almost as much as the kids are. Plus our movie kicks that movie's ass, let's be honest," he added with a grin. "Yeah. And we're out first. And we're gonna kick their ass!" he joked, clearly not concerned with competing against "Huntsman." "We're gonna make so much more money than they are! Our Rotten Tomatoes score is gonna be so much higher."
