'Bridesmaids' Stars And Producers Stars Talk Blooper Reel

Stars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and producer Judd Apatow discuss the new comedy's fun-filled shoot.

With its all-star cast anchored by "Saturday Night Live" faves Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, plus the producing expertise of R-rated comedy master Judd Apatow, it is fairly obvious that the new movie "Bridesmaids" is outrageous and hilarious.

MTV News was lucky enough to chat with the talented "Bridesmaids" castmembers and filmmakers recently about a few of the flick's over-the-top moments — Jon Hamm's awkward sex scenes, for example — as well as the number of outtakes that were produced when director Paul Feig and Apatow let a team of gifted comediennes run wild with improvisation. Speaking about the footage that was left on the cutting room floor, we asked Feig and Apatow how long the blooper reel will be in the DVD.

"It's 12 minutes, we know exactly," Apatow said.

"That's right. We just finished with the DVD," added Feig. "Although we could do about 200 hours of stuff if we wanted. We shot a lot of stuff."

Wiig and Rudolph agreed that the 12-minute gag reel is too short.

"There should be a whole long double-disc [version] of the movie," Rudolph suggested.

"We can call it the 'Double D,' " Wiig offered, which inspired Rudolph to come up with the DVD's tagline on the spot.

"You guys like double D's? We're gonna double your pleasure with dees," she joked.

We didn't get the chance to run that idea by Feig and Apatow, but with regard to the actress responsible for creating the most bloopers, Feig revealed that Rose Byrne, who is perhaps best known for her role on the dramatic FX legal thriller "Damages," was the giggle queen.

"Well, Rose was very good at breaking up," he said. "She was so hilarious herself, doing her ad libs, but she was very susceptible to laughing at the other girls."

"[It's] because she's not laughing very much during 'Damages,' " Apatow joked. "Because they're always trying to murder her, or she accidentally murders people and doesn't know it until the end of the season."

"Bridesmaids" opens this weekend.

Check out everything we've got on "Bridesmaids."

Survivor: Redemption Island Finale Preview, Who Will Be The Winner? Tonight is the big night! The series finale of Survivor: Redemption Island. We have seen the last 35 days how The Game has evolved, especially with the new twist of Redemption Island, giving those booted off from their tribes a second chance at getting back in The Game. In tonight?s 2-hour finale, we will see how the last four of 39 days are played out. Which one of those on Redemption Island will succeed in returning? More importantly, who will win the $1 Million grand prize and the bragging rights of being the sole survivor? I suppose if one had o pick likely candidates to be the Survivor: Redemption Island winner, two names would top the list, ?Boston? Rob Mariano and Matt Elrod. Especially since my favorite Survivor, Russell Hantz, was booted from The Game long ago. Mariano has been playing an expert social game in true ‘Rob-father’ style. He has controlled and manipulated his tribe mates from Day One. Everybody who has been voted off from either the Ometepe or Murlonio Tribes has been so at the hands of Rob.

¿Y a ti? ¿Qué te parece todo esto?

We just can't get Lupe Fiasco's songs out of our head, so the Chicago rapper has been tapped to perform alongside Trey Songz at the 2011 MTV Movies Awards. On the live June 5 show, Lu will rock two songs from his Lasers album which debuted at #1 on the Billboard albums chart when it was released earlier this year.

" 'Out of My Head' is such a dope song and easily one of my favorite collaborations to date," Trey Songz said in a statement. "When Lupe first played the track for me I knew it was going to be a smash, and I'm happy it's been received so well. The MTV Movie Awards are such a special event, and Lupe is a great performer, so I am excited to be able to do the show with him."

"I'm excited to be performing on this year's MTV Movie Awards," said Lupe Fiasco. "I'm looking forward to putting together another special performance for my fans."

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by actor/comedian Jason Sudeikis and will be broadcast live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.

Bikini Babe Audrina Patridge's Wet Republic Birthday Bash

Showing up for a belated birthday bash in her honor, Audrina Patridge was the picture of perfection at the Wet Republic pool in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon (May 14).

The former "Hills" hottie stripped down to a multi-colored bikini as she and a group of friends hit up the MGM Grand locale to celebrate her 26th birthday (which was actually on May 9).

Also in attendance at the poolside soiree was Audrina's BMX star beau Corey Bohan, as the pair just recently rekindled their romance after a nasty split back in March during which Bohan tweeted that Patridge was "heartless" and "insecure".

Nonetheless, the twosome looked lovey-dovey at the Wet Republic soiree while cozying up for pictures, with Miss Patridge being presented a fancy birthday cake as cameras captured all of the happenings.

Once finished up with the birthday fete, Audrina tweeted her thanks to those who made it happen, as she wrote, "Thanks @alexcordova for everything today @wetrepublic"

'Breaking Dawn' Star Michael Sheen Teases 'Extraordinary' Battle Scene

'We spent something like four or five weeks shooting that scene,' he tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner

Michael Sheen
Photo: MTV News

For the die-hard "Twilight" fans out there that have devoured and dissected Stephenie Meyer's four-book saga over and over again, it can be difficult to get them to admit any flaws in the author's beloved tomes. However, one common discussion topic that comes up frequently is the ending to "Breaking Dawn."

Without delving too deeply into details, or spoilers, for that matter, the last half of "Dawn" teases readers with the possibility of an epic vampire-on-vampire battle. And then — again, without giving too much away — the battle that occurs is not so much epic ... as anticlimactic.

When MTV News caught up with Michael Sheen as he promoted his upcoming ensemble Woody Allen film, "Midnight in Paris," we asked whether the movie will mirror the book or if things have been amped up for the big-screen adaptation.

"Oh this is very amped up, yeah," Sheen revealed. "This is, I think we spent something like four or five weeks shooting that scene and it takes up a big chunk of the movie," he added. "And it's got extraordinary things going on in it, so it certainly won't be anticlimactic."

Sheen's comments will hopefully be music to the ears of "Twilight" fans hoping for some actual action in those big final sequences, and they fall in line with the bits and pieces of information we've derived from other castmembers. Peter Facinelli told us a few months ago that he'd been doing some intense scene work with "a lot of vampires."

"I don't want to give away too much, but if you've read the books, it's the standoff with lots of vampires in play," he said. "There's like 70 people going through the works at once. It's a little maddening, but fun."

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

Lindsay Lohan Turns Vampire for Tyler Shields

Featured in numerous works by the artist, Lindsay Lohan attended photographer Tyler Shields' ?Life Is Not A Fairytale? exhibit opening in Los Angeles on Saturday (May 7).

Taking a break from her court ordered community service, the "Mean Girls" star posed alongside Shields and a wall hanging featuring her likeness in a vampire-inspired portrait.

With the art exhibition opening to the public today on Hunter Street in Los Angeles, Tyler told People magazine of Lindsay, "She's an amazing actress. I've shot Lindsay probably 20 times and nobody has seen any of it. This is the first little taste."

As for the decision to create the vampire piece, a source told People, "Lindsay loves vampires. It's well documented that she is a vampire fan, and I said we need to do the craziest vampire mouth shot ever with her mouth."

'Thor' Sequel Is A 'Tantalizing' Prospect, Kenneth Branagh Says

'There's a passionate fanbase out there that will say what they think,' the director tells MTV News.

With the mighty "Thor" having vanquished the competition at the box office this weekend, we can now officially turn to talk of sequels. Specifically, would esteemed director Kenneth Branagh be willing to take on another "Thor" movie?

"We went through so many possibilities for how the story might go, that of course the prospect of that is very tantalizing and fascinating," Branagh told MTV News about toying with the sequel idea. "I loved working with this group of actors and had a fantastic experience working with everyone in the Marvel family," he added.

"You know as well as I do, there's a passionate fanbase out there that will say what they think. People will vote with their feet. And because it's such a big chunk of change for everybody involved, I think that's going to have a crucial, crucial impact but it would be a lovely challenge and problem to have should we do a second one," he said.

Branagh went on to say that in doing research for "Thor," he discovered plenty of fun, new elements of the story that warrant further exploration in future installments.

"When I first got involved with this, I was so thrilled. The first big, really exciting moment when I started really going through the comic books was all the descriptions of powers," he explained. "I loved it, amazing. People's body weights, how tall they were, what they could do, all of that kind of stuff. There's a vast amount of that from the Thor universe that I'd like to see," he said, before reiterating that it's up to fans to support and show film some love. "As they say in the voiceover of 'Big Brother' back home [in the U.K.], 'You. Decide,' " he said with a laugh.

Michael Jackson's Family Upset With James Durbin Over 'American Idol' Pepsi Quip

'We were shocked to see this,' read the Jacksons' message; Durbin tweeted an apology on Thursday.
By Gil Kaufman

Some people might argue that it's patently unfair to take rank amateurs, put them on the biggest show on TV and then expose them to potential worldwide ridicule every week. Because it's one thing to tune in to "American Idol" from your living room or play shows at the local wings joint, it's another thing entirely when you get up on that stage and open your mouth with tens of millions watching and listening.

James Durbin learned this lesson the hard way this week when he made what he thought was an innocent crack about not setting himself on fire during his pyro-tastic cover of Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)" on Wednesday night.

Asked by host Ryan Seacrest if he was worried about dancing around among the flames shooting up from the piano onstage, Durbin joked, "I have a lot of hairspray in my hair to keep it from jumping around — so much so, the one thing I was worried about was having a 'Pepsi moment.' "

The seemingly innocent crack was a reference to the 1984 on-set accident in which late pop icon Michael Jackson was badly burned during the shooting of a Pepsi commercial by some wayward pyro effects. The serious burns he suffered in the incident allegedly led to his longtime addiction to pain medication and prescription drugs.

The Jackson family was not amused by the quip and sent a statement to TMZ on Thursday.

"We were shocked to see this. It's nothing to make light of and everybody should be focusing on who was responsible for Michael's death," read the statement. Family patriarch Joseph Jackson also was reportedly miffed that "Idol" producers did not cut the comment from the West Coast feed of the show.

Durbin defended his slip-up in a tweet, which has since been scrubbed from the singer's official "Idol" Twitter feed, that explained, "For anyone talkin ... I said pepsi NOT MJ! I have no disrespect for Michael. I grew up singing his art. I guess youll take it how you want it." He later added, "Talkin about MJs passing is too soon. Making a reference to an incident 25 years ago..not too soon. The stab was at pepsi people."

It's worth noting that Pepsi's bitter rival, Coca-Cola, is the main "Idol" sponsor, a fact that Seacrest reminded Durbin of in an awkward moment after the comment on the show.

What did you think of James Durbin's "Pepsi" quip? Tell us in the comments.

Karissa Shannon: Louis Vuitton Bikini Babe

Spending time with her man as he readies for a potentially lengthy jail sentence, Karissa Shannon hit the beach with Sam Jones III in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon (May 6).

The Playboy Playmate/former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner and her man looked quite the loved-up couple, as a playful Sam gave Shannon a piggyback ride before walking hand-in-hand along the scenic beachfront.

To the delight of photographers, Miss Shannon later frolicked in the sea solo in her black Louis Vuitton string bikini, proudly showing off her fit n' fine figure while tweeting of the midday excursion, "Hitting the Beach!"

As for Mr Jones III's legal woes, the former "Smallville" star is facing up to 20 years in federal prison after reportedly pleading guilty to drug charges. He will be sentenced on June 22, 2011.

'Thor': The Reviews Are In!

Critics are applauding the God of Thunder's big-screen debut.
By Kara Warner

The golden-locked God of Thunder has finally descended upon theaters. "Thor," starring brawny Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth, tells the tale of a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. As a result, his father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins), banishes Thor to Earth, where he meets humans Jane (Natalie Portman), Darcy (Kat Dennings) and Dr. Eric Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård). When a dangerous villain from Thor's world invades Earth, Thor must learn what it takes to be a true hero.

Next to "Fast Five," "Thor" is one of the first potential blockbusters of the summer. Also, with Thor being part of Marvel Comics' "Avengers," the hopes are high for the film to be a success and draw in more fans in advance of 2012's highly anticipated ensemble flick.

So what do the critics think? So far, so good. The film's current approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes is a "certified fresh" 80 percent.

The Story
"Can a blockbuster be momentous and lighthearted at the same time? Thor, Kenneth Branagh's rousing popcorn adventure about the Norse-blond, hammer-wielding god of thunder who made his Marvel Comics debut in 1962, pulls off something I wouldn't have thought possible: It restores the innocence to big-budget superhero mythmaking." — Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

The Visuals
" 'Thor' is a fantasia of geektacular iconography. It is loaded with TV-show Batman Dutch angles, features a WWE-style brawl in the mud, a giant spherical teleportation beam at the foot of a rainbow bridge, Frost Giants, Anthony Hopkins screaming like he hasn't since 'The Bounty' and, most importantly, a shot of Chris Hemsworth, golden locks flowing, flying toward camera parallel to the ground holding his charmed hammer Mjolnir, daring to be a more super man than even Christopher Reeve himself." — Jordan Hoffman, UGO

The Comic-to-Film Adaptation
"The exiled and agitated Norse god Thor was distinctly B-list or worse on the Popsicle-stained colour page. There's only so much you can do with a hammer and attitude. But on the big screen, it's a whole other Thor-y, especially with the welcome discovery of Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth in the title role. As quick with a smile as he is with a snarl, he lands with a roar instead of the feared thud." — Peter Howell, The Toronto Star

Kenneth Branagh's Shakespearean Touch
"It's supposed to have mind-blowing action scenes, a heart-rending father-son story, a compelling love affair and a Cain vs. Abel fraternal standoff. Branagh's 'Thor' does most of those things fairly well, in fact, and a few of them better than that. I've never felt sure that Branagh was a natural filmmaker, although he's been doing it for quite a while now, but all his projects, on stage or on screen, have a natural bravado about them that's endearing. ... Branagh's completely at home in this kind of inflated family drama, of course, and the three guys yell, sulk and brood in their ridiculous costumes to fine effect." — Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com

The Final Word, Pro-Con-Pro Style
"The effects are effective. The humor is humorous and just self-referential enough to let you know the film doesn't take itself too seriously." — Michael O'Sullivan, The Washington Post

"A howling turkey is at least something to laugh at, and maybe even something to see. But 'Thor' is an example of the programmed triumph of commercial calculation over imagination." — A.O. Scott, The New York Times

"At its best moments, 'Thor' weaves a spot of magic from the complex science of $150-million fantasy-film technology." — Richard Corliss, Time

Go Inside '30 Minutes Or Less' With Jesse Eisenberg And Danny McBride

Nick Swardson tells MTV News his and McBride's schemers are 'simple dudes.'
By Eric Ditzian

Aziz Ansari and Jesse Eisenberg on the set of "30 Minutes or Less"
Photo: MTV News

Late last August, I fled the humid concrete confines of Times Square and arrived in the dusty heat of a junkyard in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Next to a giant tangle of rusted-out cars, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson were busy blowing up watermelons and shouting expletives far too dirty to reprint.

It was a strange and hilarious sight to behold, but it all made sense: I was on the set of "30 Minutes or Less," and what I was witnessing was the unlikely glamour of major studio moviemaking. McBride and Swardson play low-life criminals with a simple plan: strap a bomb to a pizza delivery boy and force him to rob a bank in less than nine hours, lest the kid become an unwitting suicide bomber.

"They're kind of simple dudes. They're not very learned," Swardson said during a break in the action. "But they're not robots. At the core, they are actually very nice people."

Added McBride, "They just want to be loved, whether it takes a bomb or a bank robbery to get there."

What happens after they hatch their scheme, test their explosives on watermelons and then strap them to Jesse Eisenberg's pizza boy forms the bulk of the action and the comedy in "30 Minutes," which hits theaters on August 12. With Eisenberg in trouble, he enlists the help of his best friend (played by Aziz Ansari), even though they've had an earlier falling-out resulting from Eisenberg's sexual conquest with his friend's sister. But there's nothing like a life-threatening situation to bring two pals together.

On set, both guys were having a blast. During some downtime, Ansari cracked that he and Eisenberg were making plans to reboot the "Fast and Furious" franchise and take over the roles of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Eisenberg, for his part, was having a blast being a madman behind the wheel during stunt-driving exercises.

"I live in New York City and ride a bicycle, so I never drive ever, so I've been given the opportunity and a cool car," he said with a sly smile. "Every time I drive, I get yelled at by the crew, but the stunt drivers always wink at me and say, 'Nah, that was good, man. Keep doing it.' I've been subtly and subversively encouraged to be very dangerous in the car."

Katie Holmes: Not Thinking Family Expansion

Closing out the week with a bout of retail therapy, Katie Holmes was busy checking out the offerings at Barneys in Beverly Hills on Friday (May 6).

Clad in a form fitting tank top paired with snug jeans and black flats, the former "Dawson's Creek" darling looked focused as she combed through the shoe selections in search of the perfect footwear to add to her collection.

And while the new pics have already kickstarted baby bump rumors, Katie recently spoke about not having any plans to expand the family.

She told The Times of daughter Suri and Tom's adopted children, Connor and Isabella, "They're great kids, a great brother and a great sister to Suri, and she's a great sister to them."

Of her role, Mrs Tom Cruise said, "This is stepmotherhood and this is motherhood. I'm not worried about it [having a new sibling for Suri]. She's got really good friends and great cousins, so I feel happy about it. We have a really busy household, and it's really fun and fulfilling. There's always something going on."
